光华书店成立于1971年5月1日，是爱国华侨邓家祥先生与另一爱国华侨刘新先生共同创办的中国书刊专营店。光华书店位于伦敦市中心区的唐人街，是英国唯一一家专门从事中国书刊发行的书店，2007年由中国国际图书贸易集团公司收购，书店专营中国出版的中英文图书，经营类别涉及语言教学、文学、武术气功、哲学、历史、中医药、工艺品等各个类别，是服务英国华人和英国读者的重要渠道。书店经营面积100平米，该店拥有较为广泛的读者群，在当地树立了良好的信誉，享有较高知名度，成为中国出版物在英国发行的主要渠道，为扩大我国中外文书刊在英国的发行，传播中华文化，介绍改革开放后中国各方面的变化做了大量工作，发挥了重要作用。
